I send prayers to the CREATOR for peace and acceptance for the family and fans of Mr. Jackson. Know that his spirit will live forever, due to your love. Our Brother, Mr. Michael Joseph Jackson, was a gift from ALLAH. No doubt about it. I was quite pleased to hear Mr. Jermaine Jackson say those words, for I had the same feeling in my spirit when I heard Mike, as we know him, had passed. I must confess that prior to the passing of Mr. J. I had not bought one cd of his. Oh I heard and loved his music. I have jammed to many of his cuts over the years. He has been a serious mix set subject in a club here and there. If his music was played on a radio station I was listening to, I would bob my head, pat a foot, and snap a finger or two. In a real sense I can say I was a non-committed fan. (smile) I must also confess that I have recently contributed to his non official Zero-Debt fund, for I found I had to collect the music that I had neglected to collect over the years. I mentioned my new vigor in buying Mr. J.'s music to a lady, and was told "You're obsessing". While I can see how she may think that, it's not true. I value the man's gift, and realized I didn't have any of his music on hand. Oh dag, did I do that? Yep, sure did. Ok, now to correct the mistake. So off I go to Amazon.com to get some MJ music. It was the day he passed, June 25, 2009. I ran up on Amazon like a kid with some change in her pocket into the candy man's store. How much can I get for ? To my surprise, I found new MJ cds for sale by Amazon's customer 4 star rated vendors for 3.99, 4.99, 6.99, and 7.99. Imagine that! So I got 4 or 5 cds. Poor Amazon, they were not ready. A day or two later I saw in the news that I was no where near the 100 - 600 people who had hit the places where Mr. J.'s music could be bought on line. Ut-oh, what music did I not get that day? Let me go back and see what else I could for a few more coins. Let's see, I want that, that, that and oh yeah, that as well. Now that was a little more costly, but it could have been much worse. It could be what I saw the other day - the History CD for $34.24. Oh H*** no! I will get that CD, but it will not be for that price. Believe it! There is no greater joy than to come home from a hard day and have new music waiting for you. I have recently had the joy of picking up 4 MJ cds on my door step. This has amounted to 92 new MJ musical items on my MP3 player. And there is more to come. I may have MJ overload before it's over. Please pray for yah Sister (smile). I must say that I am very pleased to see MJ's music and life celebrated by the world. Jamie Fox said it well at the BET Awards "He was our Brother, we shared him, but he was our Brother." Well said Mr. Fox. Mr. Michael J. Jackson was born and raised in a small town, in poor conditions, with a host of siblings. Throughout his lifetime he reached many in the world. His music and the many messages contained within are a testament to his heart and spirit. I thought it was me. I thought I was the only one who got the messages of his later works. Ha! In my later years of life, I have come to realize that there is no such thing as an original thought. Just like ALLAH grants me that knowledge, HE gives it to many. In that spirit, I guess many heard the same messages. Many times I thought of using one of his songs as an Official AG theme, but we were not in a position to eat up that type of bandwidth. In that spirit, please visit and enjoy the official AG MJ Music page. I have added my favorite YouTube videos, and I am sure the music on the page will grow in time. Part 2 As we grow and mature, we understand thoughts and feelings are not a one time thing. As time goes on we find ourselves going over subject matters more than once. In this instance, they are thoughts of Mr. Jackson. You see, I think I am beginning to see a much larger view of Mr. Jackson. First of all, I call him Mr. Jackson because during his time on earth, I don't think he received half of the respect he should have been given. Because we have seen him since he was a child, I think we became too familiar with him. As children we regularly saw him on TV and watched him grow into a young man and then into a man, without realizing he had indeed become a man. At his passing, some had not realized he had reached the golden age of 50. It was due to our personal history with Mike. In speaking with people about the passing of Mr. Jackson I realized he had become an extended Family member for many. He was a little brother, big brother, cousin, uncle, nephew, or the 'not seen neighbor - the one people gossip and assume things about' as he referenced himself an in interview, the artistic one we all knew. People treated him as a child or a 'man-child' which is what some, including Mr. Paul McCartney called him. I take exception to that term. While Mr. Jackson did not experience what many consider a "normal" childhood, he was all man when he passed over. It was that mindset that allowed some people to do what most of us would never consider, allow thier child to sleep over at the house of a single man or father. While Mr. Jackson's intentions were in my opinion altruistic, it made him vulnerable to 'thieves in the temple. It opened him to the madness we saw unfold via the legal system. It is my opinion Mr. Jackson was an innocent when it come to the abuse of people and all the more children. So I call him Mr. Jackson in order to restore some respect and dignity to this special person. Special? Yes indeed! Who else do you know gave $30,000,000.00 to charities? What a great heart he had in order to do that. What a GOD-like spirit! I can easily say if I had his bank, I would have given to charities as well. But 30 Mill? Am I able to say I would have contributed that hefty amount? I hope I would, but to be honest that is a lot of loot. Not only did he accomplish that during his life, but he has allowed 20% of his current and future earrings to be shared with designated charities. So Man in the Mirror was not just a song, but a declaration or promise. Even in the midst of financial questioning, he made sure that the charities he supported would be taken care of as long as his estate made money. Very Special indeed! As an artist, Mr. Jackson reached people all over the world. His fan base encompasses national, political, age, economic, racial, ethnic, and spiritual divides. Say what you will, but Mr. Jackson's fans are a true diverse collective. Does that make him an 'Angel' as I read on line? I don't know. It's not for me to determine who is and who is not a Heavenly being. I will say that in my opinion, Mr. Jackson was an ambassador of the CREATOR. I have no problems saying it because much of his later art contains what I consider messages for us to be better people. More to come.... The next Saga... |
