A Short Biographical Sketch of Minister Najee Muhammad |
|
Najee Mustafa joined the Lost-Found Nation of Islam (Under the Teachings of the Honorable Silis Muhammad) in 1979 on the west coast in Los Angeles, California. He has since served in several cities, such as Atlanta and New York City. In 1991, he was commissioned to Washington, D.C. Najee moved from Los Angeles in 1982 after the Nation’s Headquarters (Muhammad’s Mosque) moved to Atlanta, Georgia. While in Atlanta, he served as Assistant Minister and Orientation Instructor and was refereed to as a Muslim’s Muslim, meaning: he is a Minister Extraordinaire, an example of what a Muslim is. In 1986, he was dispatched again to New York City to help establish a Mosque and propagate the Nation’s message of freedom, justice and equality to Afro Descendants in the Big Apple. After finishing his duties in New York, he was commissioned to Washington, D.C. in 1991 to propagate the Nation’s message of freedom, justice and equality to Afro Descendants in the Nation’s Capitol. In 1992, Najee was given the (Holy) last name “Muhammad” by his leader and teacher, the Honorable Silis Muhammad. Under the leadership of the Honorable Elijah Muhammad, the (Holy) last name Muhammad was rarely ever given to believers. However, Silis Abu Bakr was given the (Holy) last name Muhammad by his leader and teacher, (the Honorable Elijah Muhammad) in 1966. Today, the Honorable Silis Muhammad is carrying on the tradition established by his Teacher of rarely giving the name Muhammad (see the D.C. sniper case) to believers unless they have very unique qualities in which they deserve to wear the name. The name Muhammad means “praiseworthy or worthy of praise”. We can clearly understand the wisdom and why the Honorable Elijah Muhammad did not give the name Muhammad to just any believer. We are glad that the Honorable Silis Muhammad did not deviate from that great tradition established by Allah in the Person of Master Fard Muhammad. He gave Elijah Poole the (Holy) last name Muhammad in 1933, prior to leaving North America. Minister Najee Muhammad is also a researcher and columnist for Muhammad Speaks newspaper. He is now working on a book titled, “The Explanation of Silis Muhammad--Setting the Record Straight”. Minister Najee can be found on Sunday afternoons in Washington, D.C. at 2:00 pm at Muhammad’s Mosque located at 1111-1/2 Bladensburg RD NE. Washington D.C. delivering a fiery message of freedom, justice and equality to Afro Descendants. E-mail: Minofdefense@Verizon.net Please visit The Lost Found Nation of Islam at the following sites: |
