Good Afternoon Family, I want to share my morning with you. I don't think I will ever forget this morning! On my way to work, I ran into an old friend who I grew up with in 'da hood. Brother and I were catching up on family and our personal lives, and I remembered to give him my business card so that he could hit me up on my cell - so I reached into my purse and whipped out my U.N.I.A. - A.C.L. business card. The card contains a picture of the Founder of The UNIA-ACL along with my cell number. I placed it in his hand and told him it was my cell# so that he could hit me up when he wanted. Imagine my surprise when he said "WHO IS THIS MAN?" I am telling yah - he could have knocked me over with a feather!!! My Goodness, Brother, where have you been? So I took a quick poll on METRO, yeah, DC's METRO on 10/21/2004 at 07:00 AM and asked a Brother and Sister,, "If I showed you a picture of Marcus Garvey, would you know what he look like?" The Brother said "No". The Sister said "Who?" These were not children,, they looked to be 30ish. OK,, now I know what to do. I must make my Founder, The Right Excellent Honorable Marcus Mosiah Garvey, a household name like Martin, Malcolm, and Louis! Considering our Founder is the Ancestor to these Great Black Men, for him to not be known on the street by the common person is a slap as far as I am concerned. Now to get started on my task!
