Dear Mr. Bush,
I am
writing to you as one of the dispossessed and arrantly repressed blak men
of this so-called "Republic"....One of the IN EVIDENCE 'blak-sheep' of
this distressed land....
It has come to my attention that since the advent of your administration
in Washington, that you have shown the most contemptuous, sectarian,
autocratic, and 'back-water' attitudes towards blak and Hispanic men since
your father served as V.P. under the despotic Reagan administration.
Your methodology of "economic deprivation" has caused grown men to seek
refuge where ever they can find it...
Whether it be in a shelter, under train tracks, on man-hole covers, under
shade trees and rocks--whatever.......
The bottom line is, people are starving in a 'land of plenty'... While,
you, and your "Billionaire?s Boy's Club" associates are slobbering at the
mouth at the thought of how much revenue the usurping of Iraqi oil will
bring you....
Now, I am not writing this to moan, cry, crawl, or ask you for ANYTHING...
Nor, shall I beg YOU for mercy--for I am A MAN, not some MAN-CHILD sucking
on a pacifier given to Him by mother......No, that's not what I'm here
for......
I am here to tell YOU that, WE, as blak men, under your oppressive and
abhorrent regime, shall NOT falter nor shall we bow to your RETROGRADE
practices....
WE KNOW that, you, and your administration would like to turn back the
clock on civil rights and dismiss ALL the gains that blak folk have made
in years, prior....The better to CONTROL us with....
But, as sure as the CREATOR decrees that the sun rises in the morning, and
the moon and stars come out at night--WE SHALL NOT BE BROKEN....WE SHALL
NOT BE UN-UNIFIED...WE SHALL NOT TURN BACK, EVER!!!
We shall shake off the yoke of non-success that we are entrapped in and we
will PROSPER and become the type of MEN that the CREATOR imagined us to
be.....
I must also, steadfastly, state my refusal to take on the trappings of
'UNCLE TOM-ism" in order to appease the CONCEIT in you or add to your own
personal hubris.
So, continue in your work....For as Moses stated: "Who's on the LORD'S
side?....."
I answer with utmost pleasure and assurance:
"WE ARE!!!"
