AG EDITOR
SENT
INCURABLE E-MAIL WORM
Evening all..
Yesterday I received an e-mail from some one who's E-Mail Address I don't know,
which is unusual. I can usually look at the E-mail address or the List Serv, and
know it's origins. He attached something with a *.doc ext on it.
Thank GOD I am not in the habit of down loading stuff from peeps I don't know.
Good thing too.
This e-mail was sent to an E-Mail addy I don't put out in public, so I was like who is this fella??
I deleted it and went on with my e-mail business.
Well I just hit my hotmail account and this person sent me 3 more e-mails with files attached!
When I went to look at the file on
line, (Hotmail uses McAfee Virus Scan to protect it's users and alerts you if there is a virus
attached to a file), guess what??? The files were not only INFECTED. but
it was an INCURABLE worm. Do Tell!!! Hotmail won't let you download infected files, so no
problem, I am safe.
So I looked at his 2nd file and it was infected and incurable as well. The shocker was that it was a *.bat
file. Now what lil plan did he have?
To have my pc completely shut down? Oh hell no!!! That's NOT going to happen,
well not via e-mail. You gotta come better than that son!
Now he wasn't happy to send the viruses to my Hotmail.com account. Oh No!! He sent copies to the un publicized E-mail account as well. How did he get the other e-mail address you ask? Good Question! While updating my personal site, I added my new e-mail address to a page. Needless to say I have changed that.
So I am warning you. In keeping with the spirit
of Pan-Africanism, The Right Honorable Marcus M. Garvey, NOI, SCLC, Black
Panthers, New Black Panthers, and other Black organizations, I warn you
to be ever watchful. Keep your eyes open and keep an eye on this fool right here.
If you see mail by him delete it quickly!
Oh btw, I reported him to Hotmail.com and his e-mail account provider and I have
no problems sending a copy of this e-mail to the agencies I mentioned in the following e-mail!!
He won't be doing this
too much longer, that's for sure. Well not from that e-mail address, anyway.
If any of you see this mess floating around,,, do report him. This is no joke. I know a brother who
recently had to have his hard drive re-formatted due to some e-mail worm he picked up and infected ALL of his files.
As ever, please feel free to use the following e-mail as a sample e-mail to use to anyone who would dare to infect your computer and you are blessed with insight and are able to side-step the intention.
He must not have read the Message from the Editor. Shame, he could have saved himself some headaches. I mean what I say, and I say what I mean!! I am not a child and I am not to be played with!!
Here is the write up on the worm. http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/w32.sircam.worm@mm.html
