I also pledge we will do much better in the future. We have so much more to do, so much further to go.

| INTRODUCTION
Good Day, I wish to introduce myself. I am one of your Anacostia
Park Gazette reporters. You may refer to me as "T", if you must label
me. Before you read another word, let me explain that I am just like
you. This concept was born from the brains of a couple of my friends,
who said that a periodical for the park would be a good idea. And
so, here it is....
In this first edition, I will attempt to cover a few thoughts that have been on my mind, and hopefully, on yours as well. If you have an idea or an article for inclusion into this small, but hopefully insightful, periodical, please feel free to discuss them with me, or one of the Brothers or Sisters that are handing this out. Enough of an introduction, as Arsenio would say, "Let's Get Busy!" T

Be aware of the fact that the children, of all ages, are watching you and I. They watch to see how we react to various situations. |
Whether we choose to believe it or not, every
adult in a child's life is a "role model".
I agreed with Mr. Charles Barkley, when he said that he was not a role model. His job is to be a sports figure and to win as many basketball games as possible, not to be your child's role model. That is your job. It is my belief, that the parents and the extended family members are the correct role models. The children do not know what We know. They are not adults. They are children! They need guidance and love. That is not to say that the "Wild Ones" should get off because they are not aware of proper conduct. What I am saying is, "Look folks, let's get with the program!" As Sister Souljah says on her Tape/CD 360 DEGREES OF POWER, "The children cannot raise themselves. The Television, the Babysitter, the Radio cannot raise your children. Anything You want your |
