CATCHING HELL

ALL

OVER THE PLACE

Yes, one would think, we do, right?  The first one you think giving the family hell would be the racist system. True, very true.  Then you think racism, right?  Yep, that too. Next on your list is injustice, right?  Right.  All correct answers.  Everyone of them.

Would you believe Black people catch the most hell from our people?  I know you don't want to believe it, but it's true.  Too true.  Let me break it down for you.

Remember the Brother/Sister who does not understand they are catering to the same mess they say they hate?

Ex: "We should stay with our own kind", in reference to African Americans and other Black people from the Diaspora in personal relationships.

Ex: Those Black people who hate other black people cause they have a non-black parent.

Ex:  Those who feel once they get advances career or financially, they don't have any duty to assist another.

Ex:  Those family members who, when faced with people that disagree with them, who feel it is their right to disrespect their family members.

Now the strong family members may or may not comment on these examples of Mental Slavery.  It is a dilemma every time it is seen.  Should I, shouldn't I, do I feel like having to deal with some garbage?  Or is this situation too much to take and must be addressed?

Yes, it is our duty to be the voice of reason when madness is about.  We know this in our very souls, but people forget or don't know how to take criticism or do not feel they have to answer for anything they do or say.

So the Revolutionary addresses some madness they see, and next thing you know BAM!, the revolutionary is subjected to insults, slander, abuse, be it mental, verbal or physical.  We expect that reaction from the oppressor, don't we?  But when it comes from family, well that's not what we expected, and comes as a shock. "Who would think?"

Then comes the anger,  "Well here I am,  going through all manner of things, and I am subjected to this, from the people I love? Who and what am I fighting for?"

Then the disappointment, that soul deep disappointment.  That disappointment Malcolm, Marcus, Martin, and others  must have felt when faced with various situations, and you know tomorrow you will getup, get dressed, fight the enemy yet again, knowing you may not be appreciated or understood.

Why do we do it?  Because no matter how it is perceived or understood or misunderstood, we love our people and want them to be the best they can.  Why?

Because it is our nature.
