Well, Well!!

Look what peeped up from the ooze of America.  Stark madness -  in jeans and a T-Shirt.  A local DC radio jock known as "The Greaseman" has performed a serious service for us.  He has revealed himself to be a racist yet again.  He has reminded us that racism, hatred, and genocide are not things of the past, only to be seen in a dramatic once in a while occurrence.  The Greaseman showed some of us, who have forgotten, that racism is an everyday thing.

He reminded us of the vile comment he made years ago in reference to Dr. King's Birthday.  "If killing one gets us one day off, killing four will get us a week off." DC turned into a madhouse when those words were spoken on the radio those many years ago.  He was lucky to be able to return to the DC area years later, and become a part of DC's air waves again, but he must have forgotten all about that on Feb 24, 1999.  He must also have forgotten that the last time, he had to be escorted back to the radio station by the police in order to make an apology.  GOD knows how he could have forgotten that,  I would not have.

His latest comments referenced the Jasper Tx killing revealed himself.  From where I sit, Mr. Tracht must have felt very comfortable that morning.  He must have felt all was right in his world, to allow his mouth to form the words.  I have read Mr. Tracht's apology.  He said his was "a grave error in judgment".  The words "grave error" don't begin to describe the situation.  Right off the top, I can't think of the words to describe the situation, but I am also feeling comfortable!

I am soo comfortable, that I have no problems saying I want The Greaseman banned from radio.  You may say this is extreme, he's just a local DJ, but I really don't think so.  You see, I have done some research and  Mr. Tracht may be more than what we think.

Perform a search on the Internet for "The Greaseman" and learn this man is known world-wide. You may not think this situation or his comments will matter much, but I stopped counting at 30 sites I could access looking for any information on him.  I saw college pages dedicated to "The Greaseman", and that worries me.  Does he have an underground collective of college students, who suck up his words?   From the evidence, I believe so, and that worries me.  Does he have the minds of our children?  Let's look at his unofficial guest book, shall we :

What the Grease said might not have been in the best of taste but it is not worth FIRING him over. It was ment as a joke, not as a racial statement. A lot of DJ's/ Shock jocks say many offensive things. If you don't like what you hear do not listen to it. Grease is a comedian, Not a racist. And to Donnie Simpson and all the other DJ's out there, do not jump on the band wagon just because Grease is white. Many black comeidans have said things that could be taken as racist, but nobody seems to care. So befor you judge one man take a GOOD look at yourself.

I know he got yanked for his comments about the grammy winner in the RAP catagory and stated that must be why they get drug around by the neck .... BUT, When will he be back on the air ???

That's very telling, I think.  Now what I see here is an extreme insensitivity to the pain of others.  Neither of these people understood Mr. Tracht violated a serious rule of conduct.   The point is that neither want Mr. Tracht fired.  It seems taking him off the air just seemed a bit too much for these two.  Could it be that Mr. Tracht being off the air will make it harder for them to hear the hate message of the day, week, or month?

Good!  That is exactly why I say take him off the air, and halt him from spreading his sickness to other people.  He is contagious, and we isolate people who are contagious in order to keep them from spreading a disease.  In his position, he is able to touch the minds of the youth (white, true, but still youth), our so called future leaders.  Do we really want him and his special type of thinking in the minds of the youth?  I know I don't.

So assist me family, and spread the word...

Radio shock jock ``Greaseman'' suspended for race-related remark

AP News Service
WASHINGTON (AP) _ Radio shock jock Doug Tracht, known as ``Greaseman'', has been suspended indefinitely for a race-related remark made on station WARW-FM.  The station's general manager, Sarah Taylor, announced Wednesday that she suspended Tracht without pay.  Tracht made the remark Wednesday during his morning drive-time show on the classic rock station.  He noted that the Grammy Awards ceremony was scheduled for that evening and played a portion of a song by Lauryn Hill, a young black hip-hop artist nominated for 10 Grammys.

Then he commented, ``No wonder people drag them behind trucks.''  The reference was to the torture and death in Texas of James Byrd Jr., a black man decapitated while being dragged behind a pickup truck. John William King, a white supremacist, was convicted of murder Tuesday in the case.  Taylor said in announcing Tracht's suspension that she ``deplored the comment and was appalled by it.''

Tracht faxed this one-paragraph statement to The Washington Post: ``I'm truly sorry for the pain and hurt I have caused with my unfeeling comment. I have no excuse for my remark, and regret it. If I could take it back I would. In the course of my show, split second judgment is made over ad-libs.
This remark was a grave error in my judgment.''
