Subject: HOW TO STOP HATE E-MAIL
Family,
I am sick and tired of hearing of and reading of racist E-mail being sent to Black sites. There is no reason for Black people, on or off line, to endure racist harassment. Last I read it was and still is illegal to send hate and/or racist Mail. There are ways to stop this crap, but the question is how badly do we want it? Are we scared to step out into the forefront ? I know many are warriors, and may feel you have "bigger fish to fry". I can understand those feelings, I too share them them, but I humbly submit "if not you, who"?
I am a supporter of the so-called "Right of Free Speech", but one must ask oneself if the so called "Right of Free Speech" cover racist assaults. I say no, but that is my personal opinion.
If you are as tired as I am, I recommend the following steps, which I will use when the need arises:
(1). Forward a copy of the offensive E-mail to the Webmaster of the offending ISP (Internet Service Provider) with your complaint.
While we may not think we will elicit a response, if the ISP is a major one, as in MSN.com (Microsoft Inc.), they will think twice before they want it known that some of their customers are sending racist E-Mail. Microsoft, IBM, etc., do not want negative PR!
If no response within a reasonable
time frame, do the next step!
(2). Carbon a copy of the offensive E-mail, and your complaint to Black List servers and everyone you know on the Net, including strong Black sites, such as NOI, Black Panthers, etc. (Include the CBC and the NAACP. Give them a chance, and monitor their actions)
If no response within a reasonable
time frame, do the next step!
(3). Forward a copy of the offensive E-mail, your complaint, and your message to the group listed in 2. to ALL Black Newspapers and BET.
If no response within a reasonable time frame, do the next step!
(4). Forward a copy of the offensive E-mail, and your complaint to NBC, ABC, CBS, CNN, all main media newspapers, and on-line News Media.
We know how the enemy exposes any
perceived attack, and we should adopt any means available, to shame them
if that is possible into halting attacks against us.
