I do not agree with Brother J. H. Hill's opinion of The Clinton Affair. It is my opinion that the so-called "Leader of the Free World" and the "Moral Leader of America" should be held up to the same level of responsibility that he wishes to be held up in esteem. If one wishes to be respected and/or looked up to with esteem, one should carry his or her self commensurate with the level of importance he/she views his or her self.
I find it a shame and a disgrace that The President of the United States of America had an affair in office. I will concede to Family who suggests it is the personal business of the First Family as to the sexual proclivities of the President (as long as it remains private). However, once it becomes public knowledge, it is the business of the entire population of the United Stated. If some choose to hide their heads in the sand, so be it. I, however, will not!
The lies told to the American public were, to say the least, outrageous. What was Clinton thinking when he lied to the public about Ms. Lewinsky? Did he not think his credibility would be forever tarnished? Did he not think every thing he said from that point on would be suspect? Did it occur to him that people like myself would even consider his impeachment? Or are we supposed to be so snowed with his sax playing that we would overlook the lies?
For those who say, "He's doing his job"; I submit this question; if your supervisor were caught in a lie, would you trust him or her again? If your spouse were caught in a lie, would you trust them again? If your child were caught in a lie, would you trust them again? I would guess not. What makes Clinton so special that being caught in a lie does not a liar make? If anything you should be more wary. Remember this man controls all of the power of this country, peace and war!
I remind you of DC's current Mayor Marion S. Barry. Mayor Barry, when caught in his "situation", did not lie. He stood tall like the man he is and admitted to being a substance abuser and a womanizer. He spent his jail time reforming, going to substance abuse meetings and correcting his problems. He did not waste taxpayer money by going before DC residents and lying to their faces! No, he stood tall and submitted to the law of the land, and was persecuted even after completing his jail time and substance abuse meetings. Clinton, on the other hand, denied his responsibility and role in the affair from the very beginning.
What makes these situations so different? How can the situations be so similar, and the world see them so differently? Family, as we review this situation, let's look with clear and open eyes. Let's not assume the role of a devotee nor antagonist, but be as one who thinks for themself, and understand that the world is watching.
