Webster's II New Riverside University Dictionary defines the following;
Self Determination:
1. Freedom to choose one's own fate, or course of action without compulsion: FREE WILL
2. Freedom of the people of a given area to choose their own political status: INDEPENDENCE.
The definition of Self Determination looks good, sounds right and strikes a cord in the heart, soul, and spirit of every person. Self Determination is a goal we all should aspire to. Why would anyone have a problem with such a noble cause? A very interesting question, indeed! Why would any one attempt to deny another person the basic human right to determine their own future, be it via politics or personal life?
Regardless of which area we speak of, many will attempt to coerce or manipulate you into doing what they want you to do. Some will quote Scripture, some will quote statistics, some will attempt to lure you with money, fame, and or status. Some will lie, cheat and or steal to atempt to gat you to do what they want. It seems to be about what they think you should do. whatever the reason.
What will you do with your Freedom or Free Will? Will you succumb to the will of others or will you think for yourself? Who has your best interest at heart more than you? Yes, friends and family love you and are to be trusted as long as they are trustworthy! Once they show themselves no longer trustworthy, they are no longer to be trusted! Yes, it is a harsh decision, but I would be incorrect to not say it. We all have heard of or experienced untrustworthy family or friends. It was no doubt a painful experience, and I empathize with all struggling with this dilemma.
Family, we must begin to think for ourselves and pay attention to all revealed. How can you know what is going on around you if you do not watch, read, or listen to some type of media. Yes, main media has revealed itself to be slanted and biased, but within it is some truth. Learn to filter information as an automatic response! Listen, read, and watch all you can. Share information with other family members, and ask for their opinion.
