I want to share a revelation I had, with the family.

Perhaps most of you are already aware of this, and I am a little late with this information. Nevertheless, here it is: the other day I was getting my hair trimmed and my barber, content as he was to show me he was reading (somehow I have that effect on people I meet), placed in my hands a copy of Cooper's Behold a Pale Horse. I told him I had yet to read the work, as I skimmed through it.

I pulled out the fold-out page in the back of the book. And then behold!  On that page was listed the names of members of the Trilateral Commission/CFR: Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Powell, et al. I said to my barber, "Is this coincidence that all these right wing ideologues now run the country?" Remember family, this work was published in 1991, and poor Mr. Cooper died mysteriously a couple years ago.  

Then I started to think of JFK, of Malcolm, of Martin, of events in Africa--including Lumumba, of the middle east, even of the late Senator Welstone--and yes, 911! What if that catastrophe was an effort to change the way we view politics and politicians and give card blanche to those in power right now to shape this country into a country as the founding slave masters intended it to be, by enacting things like Homeland Security.

Again, I may be late with this observation and many of you may have already exhausted this topic, but the epiphany was so startling that I thought it is worth mentioning.  And as Civil Rights legislation are being eroded, and all kinds of tricks becoming evident, especially the ones to do with education (Leave No Children Behind comes to mind), I think we are justified in letting our imagination take flight, even if what comes out seems fanciful.
